BARTER DESIGN 2022 - CURRENT

The Escape Pod is a micro cabin designed through Barter Design. The structure is set to embrace easy assembly, lightness, and multifunctional use. In the latest version, the protocol to export drawings is through an open nest code through Grasshopper. Depending on the client’s needs and layout requirements, the drawings automatically update with a simple number adjustment.

The mandate is to put nature above all else. It is essential to develop a building that can sit quietly nestled in inspiring environments and blend with its natural ecosystem. We chose metal for the roof and exterior siding to ensure upwards of seventy-five years of protection from direct weather elements. Western red cedar is used as a natural and indirect weathering clad. Cedar carries a natural oil designed to last in our West Coast environment. This tiny piece of architecture embraces technology into its interior, showcasing a custom-engineered audio system providing the ultimate escape experience. The cables, heat source, and audio system are integrated into the structure. Complete with furnishings and customizable options, the space is incredibly adaptable to anyone passing through. Everything is locally made at a premium level and designed to last.
